  • Amended state law to provide consumers notice of responsibilities in home construction contracts
  • Worked with bipartisan group of legislators to expand Ohio’s Children Health Insurance Program now covering more than 220,000 children
  • Secured state funding for job training at Cleveland Sight Center
  • Successfully passed legislation in 2013 to establish Ohio’s Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to help low and middle income families.
  • Amended law to protect Ohioans private information provided by Secretary of State to contractors
  • Successfully worked for the passage of the Great Lakes Compact limiting withdrawals of water
  • Successfully advocated for establishment of Ohio’s Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard
  • Successfully passed domestic violence legislation allowing judges to include companion animals in protection orders
  • Successfully passed legislation ensuring all Ohio school children are protected from abusive use of restraints and seclusion rooms
  • Successfully amended Ohio law to protect those suffering with Developmental Disabilities by ensuring provider records were available online
  • Successfully advocated for additional funding for senior vaccination program.
  • Successfully advocated for legislation allowing individuals to designate instructions regarding disposal of last remains
  • Secured more that $4 million for economic development, park and housing projects in Cleveland’s Westside and Lakewood
  • Successfully blocked effort to preempt local action dealing with lead abatement
  • Successfully amended state law allowing counties to use delinquent tax revenue to demolish abandoned homes
  • Sponsored Lakewood’s Off-Leash Dog Park
  • Passed law designating the month of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
